New York, New York – Vanity Airways continues to move forward with expansion plans to expand service from its hub at JFK Airport. The airline today announced that it has several applications pending with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for increased flight service to several airports throughout the continental United States and beyond which, if approved would supplement Vanity’s existing plans for growth.
On another note, vInternational Lease Finance Corporation (IFLC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of vAmerican International group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), announced the lease placement of four (4) used Boeing B757-200 aircraft to Vanity Airways.
Vanity Airways, based at JFK, New York leased four (4) used Boeing B757-200 aircraft from ILFC. The aircraft are powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 engines. The lease term is for two years.
vILFC is the international market leader in the leasing and remarketing of advanced technology commercial jet aircraft to airlines around the world. vILFC owns a portfolio valued at more than $ 40 billion, consisting of more than 800 jet aircraft.
The aircraft are being ferried to the airline’s headquarters at JFK International, New York for interior cabin fitting and new livery.
Airline executives released that the aircraft will provide additional service for the upcoming high season as well as serve as the platform for domestic security and international expansion.
